The Chennai-based TRS Forms and Services, an IT-enabled services company (ITeS) and a provider of solutions and products in the optical mark reader (OMR) scanner technology, launched a new e-numbering scanner, FireEye.
Addressing presspersons here on Tuesday, N. Subramanian, Managing Director, said the company was a pioneer in examination automation procedures and a provider of end-to-end solution for all examination processes.
Over the past ten years, the company had been focussing more on providing solutions than selling products. In the last two years, the company strengthened its research and development wing and developed FireEye.
The new scanner would change the marking system in universities where the system of dummy numbering was used for the subjective exams, he said.
Mr. Subramanian said the company had entered into a strategic partnership with Longwind Systems of China. Based on technology developed and designed by TRS, Longwind would manufacture FireEye in China.
The product, priced at Rs. 4.50 lakh, would combine numbering, scanning and data capture in one pass.
The company, in technical tie-up with Longwind, would set up its own manufacturing facility in Chennai by 2010 with an initial investment of Rs. 4.50 crore, he said.
