The Chennai-based medical equipment manufacturer Trivitron Healthcare on Thursday entered into a joint venture with Johnson Medical of Sweden to produce modular operation theatres and pendants. The medical equipment will be manufactured at Trivitron Medical Technological Park in Chennai. “Through this joint venture we will be able to produce technologically advanced operation room solutions for India and other emerging countries in the healthcare sector,” Trivitron Group Managing Director G. S. K. Velu told reporters here.

The production centre at Chennai is also seen as a long-term prospect for catering to the growing healthcare demands from the South Asia, Middle East and African markets.

“Together we will provide better infrastructure and technology to the operation theatres and critical care centres in India. We are in the process of finalising manufacture of mobile operation theatres that would serve remote areas and would also be useful for the disaster management services,” said Johnson Medical Managing Director (Singapore) Englam Yeo.
