Titan Industries expected to close this year with watch sales of 11 million units, up from 10 million units last year, including overseas sales, Managing Director Bhaskar Bhat said here on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters at the inauguration of ‘Titan Experience Zone’ at its Hosur plant, Mr. Bhat anticipated a turnover of Rs. 4,500 crore this year as compared to Rs. 3,847.72 crore in 2008-09. While watch sales grew 15 per cent, jewellery sales were expected to increase by 30 per cent. Titan was adding 100 new outlets this year.
The Titan Experience Zone, conceptualised by an Indo-Italian firm and designed by a French company, is not for commercial purposes alone but to give an idea of its evolution, he said.
There are touch screen experiences of Titan’s most popular variants and an audio visual presentation on the history of measurement of time.
