TiECON bid to help nascent entrepreneurs

With early-stage venture capital on the rise, TiECON Chennai’s latest imitative provided an opportunity to 48 start-ups to pitch for funding from potential investors.

TiECON serves as a forum for entrepreneurs to interact with industry captains.

Power PitchFest, which was held here on Monday, was aimed at highlighting the development of early-stage entrepreneurial ecosystem in Tamil Nadu. It provided guidance to entrepreneurs while showing venture investors across India the opportunities available to them. The event received applications from over 200 entrepreneurswhich were then brought down to 48 companies.

“The appetite for money from the entrepreneurs ranged between Rs.25 lakh and Rs.10 crore. The final participants received personalised assistance from individual mentors to make tweaks to their fund raising pitch,” said Rajan Srikanth, Chairman, PitchFest 2012.
