Tata-BP opens new line

Tata-BP Solar, a joint venture between Tata Power and BP Solar, announced on Wednesday that it has the equivalent of 32 MW of solar photovoltaic capacity at its Bangalore plant.

The additional capacity would take the total cell capacity to 84 MW with module capacity at 125 MW. Reyad Fezzani, Director, Tata BP Solar, and Prasad Menon, Managing Director of Tata Power, inaugurated the new production line.

BP Chairman of BP plc, Carl-Henric Svanberg, and Managing Director, Asia, and the Americas, Robert Dudley, were also present on the occasion.
