Tata Motors, on Monday, launched six heavy trucks through its commercial vehicles business unit (CVBU), and also its intelligent vehicle and driver management solution — Tata FleetMan Telematics Services.
A statement from the company said all six trucks had been designed and built specifically to offer the lowest TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), best-in-class fuel efficiency, longer service runs, and enhanced levels of driver comfort.
The products include the first 37-tonne, 5-axle truck in India, the Tata LPT 3723 in the 10x4 configuration, and two new engine capacities in the Prima range at 380 HP and 230 HP.
In the 380 HP range, two new models were launched - Prima 4938 tractor and Prima 3138 K tipper. In the 230 HP LX range, it launched Prima 4923 and Prima 4023 tractors. The company also launched the Tata LPK 3118 tipper in the Construck range.
It also introduced a telematics and fleet management service, Tata FleetMan, which, the company said, was targeted at commercial vehicle fleet owners and consigners of goods. The service offers advanced Telematics solutions such as fuel management, driver management and remote diagnostics. It would initially be introduced on new tractor/trailers, but would be available on the entire Tata Motors medium, and heavy commercial vehicle range in the coming months, the statement said.
