The sustained advertising growth and subscription revenue contributed through a well-diversified mix of clients across multiple product categories have contributed a significant increase in earnings of Sun TV Network according to Ajay Vidyasagar, Chief Operating Officer.
Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday Mr. Vidyasagar said income from operations for the first three months ended June 30, 2010, has risen by 53 per cent to Rs. 440.44 crore from Rs. 287.65 crore in the year-ago period. The net profit after taxation has increased by 43 per cent to Rs. 170.96 crore from Rs. 119.80 crore. Advertising revenue contributed 52-53 per cent of total revenues while revenue through subscription and broadcast fees from content creators to run their contents in the channels contributed the balance, Mr. Vidyasagar said.
According to S. Natrajhen, Chief Financial Officer, 60 per cent of the revenues was from Tamil and Malayalam channels and 40 per cent from Telugu and Kannada channels. He said the network was operating 20 satellite television channels and airing 43 FM radio stations across India.
