In a move that could revive the mechanized ship business, Tuticorin-based Sterlite Copper despatched it’s first-ever shipment of copper anodes through a mechanized sailing vessel on Monday.
The MSV Esther Rajathi started its journey towards Mumbai, carrying 350 tonnes of copper anodes meant for Sterlite’s refinery plant at Silvassa, from Tuticorin’s old harbour.
It would reach its destination on October 12.
