German carmaker Volkswagen’s Czech unit, Skoda Auto, today said its new compact car MissionL will be launched in India by the end of this year.

The company has showcased MissionL at the ongoing Frankfurt International Motor Show.

“The MissionL will be launched in Europe, Russia and China in 2012, and the customers in India will see it arrive in the market even earlier, before the end of 2011,” Skoda said in a statement, adding that the car is under the final stage of development.

“This new compact model and the new products to follow are a guarantee of accomplishing our goal to increase global annual sales to 1.5 million by 2018. We are going to present a new car approximately every six months,” Skoda Board Chairman HC Winfried Vahland said.
