SingTel hikes stake in Bharti Airtel

Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) on Tuesday said it had increased the stake in Bharti Airtel to 32.15 per cent after it purchased shares worth Rs.136 crore from the open market. With this, SingTel's stake in Bharti Airtel has gone up to 32.15 per cent from 32.04 per cent.

SingTel through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Viridian, has purchased 40.75 lakh shares of Bharti Airtel for Rs.136 crore. The purchase consideration was determined by the prevailing market price of Airtel on the relevant stock exchange, the company said in a statement.
