Siemens bags Rs. 609 crore order

Diversified conglomerate Siemens on Tuesday said its energy unit has bagged an order worth Rs 608 crore from Qatar’s General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) for constructing high voltage cables.

The company’s energy division has received an order worth Rs 608 crore, for complete supply, design, erection, testing and commissioning of high voltage cables, Siemens said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The order is to be completed over a period of two years.

Siemens is engaged in the businesses of turbines, medical equipment, power plants, automation controls and lighting equipment.

Kahrammaa provides electricity and water services.
