UFO Moviez Ltd., a satellite delivered digital cinema network, is now enabling public sector undertakings (PSUs) and corporates to reach out to their employees located in distant areas through beaming of movies, important events and even live speeches.
The company, already tied up with National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), is negotiating with other PSUs to offer its services. It is also negotiating with Jindal Steel and Power, officials said.
New business offering
“We have designed a new business offering called “Club Cinema” for corporate and education institutions. We are in discussion with large PSUs having staff quarters and factories at remote places for installation of the UFO digital system at their club house,” said Mr. Kapil Agarwal, Joint Managing Director, UFO Moviez.
He said this facility would not only help beam cinemas on first day of release but also facilitate the public address system between management sitting in metros and their employees in far flung areas.
“We have also installed digital cinemas in 90 locations for the Indian armed forces where only satellite technology delivers films on a first-day-first show basis,” Mr Agarwal told The Hindu .
At present, UFO has 3,750 digital screens, spread across 1,300 cities in India.
