RCom third quarter profit down 43 %

Reliance Communications (RCom) has reported a net profit of Rs.105 crore (consolidated) during the third quarter ended December 31, 2012, as compared to a net profit of Rs.186 crore in the same period in the previous year, down 43.3 per cent.

During the period, the company posted revenue of Rs.5,301 crore, up 5 per cent from Rs.5,055 crore.

Wireless revenue went up by 4.7 per cent year-on-year on a comparable basis while revenues from global enterprise business went up by 4.4 per cent to Rs.2,454 crore from Rs.2,352 crore.

“RCom generated operational cash flow (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) of Rs.1,653 crore in the third quarter. This is the second full year of positive free cash flow (FCF) for the company and this trend shall continue in succeeding years,” the company said in a statement. Shares of RCom closed with a gain of 0.63 per cent at Rs.88.10 on the BSE.
