Planet41 Mobi-Venture, a mobile value-added service provider, on Wednesday announced its collaboration with two leading global players, RadiSys of the U.S. and Ethrix of Israel, to commission ‘Integrated mobile media server' (IMMS) that would help 3G mobile operators to provide a higher-quality mobile video experience, faster time-to-market and rapid revenue generation.
RadiSys is a leading provider of innovative hardware and software platforms for next generation IP-based wireless, wireline and video networks. Ethrix is a provider of tailor-made, revenue-generating information, entertainment and business value-added applications.
“India is a huge market, growing at more than 10-crore subscribers a year. We are investing in the Ethrix video services platform with RadiSys IMMS to rapidly develop and deploy unique, compelling mobile video applications to meet this growing market demand,” said Planet41 Mobi-Venture CEO Somil Gupta.
The platform's architecture is predominantly built to enable flexibility and scalability, thus providing its owners the ability to react fast to rapid technological and business changes.
The partnership provides an integrated 3G mobile video services platform that delivers the next-generation video VAS diversity demanded by subscribers along with the economics, scalability and flexibility required by India's service providers.
The platform integrates many mobile media processing features, including integrated 3G-324M video support and an IP-based architecture, for 3G packet and emerging 4G/LTE packet services, into a single, cost-efficient carrier-class network element. It also provides mobile handset support for iPhone, Google Nexus One, Android, Nokia N900 and HTC.
