November 10, 2010 02:07 am | Updated October 22, 2016 11:23 am IST - CHENNAI:

Oriflame India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Sweeden-headquartered Oriflame, a leading direct selling beauty products company, plans to open 100 service points in the southern region by the end of 2011 from 54 now.

Addressing presspersons here on Tuesday, Marcus Sandstrom, Managing Director, said the south was the fastest growing region and witnessed a growth of 60 per cent over the last year. This growth would continue in the coming years also, he said, and added that to further strengthening the presence, the company opened a new office in Chennai on Monday. It would cater to the needs of 7,500 consultants based in the city alone.

Chennai witnessed a 55 per cent growth, he said. The service points would act as a platform for consultants and customers to experience the diverse range of Oriflame products.

He said the Indian subsidiary, established in 1995, has at present 12 branches across India. A new branch office would be opened in Rajasthan soon. The number of sales consultants will also be increased to over 2 lakh from the present 1.50 lakh.

Oriflame India was offering around 650 products for men, women and kids in four categories — colour cosmetics, skincare, personal and hair care and fragrances and accessories.

Pradnya Kale, Senior Area Sales Manger (South), said during the year Oriflame introduced 272 new products. It recently introduced ‘precious moments' under the fragrance category.

Oriflame had reported annual sales of euro 1.3 billion in 2009.
