There is no progress in the issue related to disinvestment of power equipment manufacturer Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL), Union Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh said on Monday.

“The Department of Disinvestment is yet to communicate with us on it. It is also up to the BHEL board to decide on it,” the Minister told journalists at a conference here. Referring to the issue of imposition safeguard duties on China-made power equipment that was impacting domestic manufacturers like BHEL, Mr. Deshmukh said: “We have already written to the ministries concerned (for appropriate action). We are waiting for their response.”
