Moser Baer enters web security solutions

February 17, 2011 10:29 pm | Updated 10:29 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

Moser Baer India Ltd (MBIL) on Thursday announced its foray into the information and web security segment where it will offer indigenous solutions covering design, development and manufacturing.

“This new foray is an extension of our solid state storage business, one that should result in a higher margin for the business and also complement our existing standard storage products,” MBIL Executive Director Ratul Puri said. “Owing largely to our manufacturing capability and existing presence in solid-state storage market, we have been able to achieve this expansion at a minimal incremental cost,” he added.

MBIL has tied up with Giesecke & Devrient as technology partners to power the data security foray. MBIL will design and develop these solutions from its manufacturing facility in Noida in association with Giesecke & Devrient (G&D). The new product portfolio of the company will initially include end-to-end data security solutions, namely, ‘authentication keys', ‘licensing tokens', 'mobile solutions' and ‘secure storage'. The solutions will be provided through USB pen drives, SD and microSD cards and in the form of software.
