LMW introduces new ring frames

Textile machinery and machine tool manufacturer Lakshmi Machine Works (LMW) has launched LR9 series of ring frames that are built with 1,632 spindles.

R. Rajendran, Chief Financial Officer, said the new frames would be available based on specific needs of the customers. The company at present offers ring frames with maximum 1,008 spindles. The demand was more for these frames. The new frames were 66 metres long as against 41 metres of the 1,008 spindle frames. The new series offered savings in power, labour and humidification. Mr. Rajendran said the new series that was launched by Union Textile Minister Dayanidhi Maran here recently was developed to offer value-addition to customers.

The cost per spindle was almost the same as the existing model. However, customers would get higher production in the new series.

He said textile mills were looking at investments and capacity creation now. Investments had slowed down between August 2008 and August 2009. The company expected the new projects to go in for the LR9 series.
