Leading power company Lanco Infratech announced that its Amarkantak and Kondapali power plants have been recognised for their outstanding achievement in safety management and excellent work in environment.
According to a statement issued by the company, the 2x300 MW operating station of Lanco Amarkantak was given the “Silver Award for its Outstanding Achievement in Safety Management” by the Greentech Foundation. The award is in recognition of the efforts towards the safety management systems along with the improved business performance.
The award takes a broad look at the full spectrum of the fire, safety and security methods and standards at the workplace. The recognition is only given to the most outstanding achiever in the safety management domain.
The Kondapali power plant has also won the Golden Peacock Award for its excellent environment performance which is a milestone achieved by the power plant in the area of excellence in Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) management.
The award has been given for achievements in bringing considerable reduction in water conservation, re-use and recycling of waste water, energy savings, reduction in NOx emission by adopting dry low NOx technology burners. The Golden Peacock Awards are instituted by World Environment Foundation.
