Konica Minolta of Japan on Monday announced its entry into the Indian printing market with the launch of new ‘Bizhub' product line that included a series of small, medium and large office, monochrome and colour printers and multi functional peripherals (MFPs). The company also announced plans to capture up to 25 per cent share of the Indian printing market by the end of 2011.

“With our expertise in colour management and in-depth knowledge of the printing industry, we are confident of making a mark in the Indian printing market.” Konica Minolta Business Solutions India Managing Director Tadahiko Sumitani told journalists here. The company plans to open offices across India and enhance distribution channel as part of the strategy to strengthen its presence. Konica Minolta plans to lead its foray with colour and monochrome MFP's and production printing systems and lead the Indian market with a wide range of colour and production printing systems.

Konica Minolta has been supplying printing equipment, including printers and photo-copiers, since 1982 in India through distributors, and has now set up a wholly-owned subsidiary. “In the rest of the world, we normally have a market share of 20-25 per cent. So we have the same target for India by the end of this year,” said Konica Minolta Business Technologies Director and General Manager Jun Haraguchi.
