Kingfisher Airlines Ltd would remain grounded till at least November 5, even though the airline, on Friday, extended the partial lock-out until October 23, 2012.
“We had a positive meeting with employee representatives on October 17, and are hopeful of reaching common ground when we meet again next week. At present , we anticipate resuming operations on November 6th, subject to our resumption plan being reviewed and approved by the DGCA,” the airline said.
On Friday, which was the last day of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation’s (DGCA) show-cause notice deadline, the airline also submitted its reply as to why its licence should not be cancelled. “We have replied to the DGCA as per their requirement,” said a Kingfisher Airlines spokesperson.
Earlier during the day, the airline announced extension of the partial lock-out as the deadlock between the management and employees could not be resolved on Wednesday.
DGCA had issued a show-cause notice to Kingfisher Airlines on October 5 asking it as to why its permit should not be cancelled.
