JSW Energy returns to profit

JSW Energy has reported a net profit of Rs.311 crore (consolidated) for the third quarter ended December 31, 2012, against a net loss of Rs.83 crore during the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Total income increased by 34 per cent to Rs.2,365 crore from Rs.2,076 crore. The company reported a net generation of 4,770 million units, up 20 per cent.

For the nine months ended December 31, 2012, JSW Energy reported a net profit of Rs.568 crore, as against a net loss of Rs.55 crore during the corresponding period of the previous year. Total income from operations grew by 64 per cent to Rs.6,633 crore.

Net generation increased by 57 per cent to 14,094 million units.
