IVRCL Assets & Holdings Limited, belonging to the IVRCL Infrastructure Projects group, on Sunday launched a 700-acre golf-centric township project in the name of ‘Aavisa' in Chennai. The company claimed that it was the first private golf-centric community in Chennai and the largest in South India.

According to a release issued by the company, Kotak Realty Fund has 28 per cent stake in the project coming up just off NH-4 at Sriperumbudur, an hour's drive from Chennai Airport.

The integrated township will offer a championship golf course, villas, apartments, work spaces, a hotel, a hospital, a school and retail spaces.

Situated in the heart of the electronic and auto-manufacturing hub of India, the project is nestled by lakes and will have natural ponds interspersed throughout.

About 80,000 trees and many more plants were being nourished and many ponds were being created to ensure clean air and low temperature within.

The project was targeted at non-resident Indians and golf-loving foreign communities living in Southern India, Managing Director and Vice Chairman of the company E. Sunil Reddy said.
