Honda Cars introduces Brio automatic

Honda Cars India, on Thursday, launched the automatic transmission version of its small car Brio, priced between Rs.5.74 lakh and Rs.5.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The company also introduced a new variant of the manual transmission version, priced at Rs.4.26 lakh.

“Automatic transmissions are gaining popularity in hatchback segment due to our stop-go traffic. Our dealer and customer voice indicated that there is a good potential for automatic in the Brio segment,” Honda Cars India Senior Vice-President (Sales and Marketing) Jnaneswar Sen said in a statement.

The company said Brio was the first car in its segment to be equipped with a 5-speed automatic transmission.

The Brio automatic transmission version comes with a 4-cylinder 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine.

The company claims that the car gives a mileage of 16.5 km per litre.

The new variant of the manual transmission will come with many features, including new audio system and body coloured outside door handles.
