“The DefenderZ+ range of safes are virtually impregnable and provide best functionality apart from being cost-effective investment in the long-term,'' Vice President and Business Head of GSS Dara E. Byramjee said here after the launch. The new product was the transformation of passive physical security safe into an intelligent physio-tronic future perfect safe, he said.

Aimed basically at the banking and jewellery sectors, the price ranged from Rs.20,000 to Rs.5 lakh.

The product was expected to net Rs.50-crore revenue to the company this year, Mr. Byramjee said.

The high-end security safes were the result of continuous research and development complying international certifications keeping in view the present and future needs, he claimed.

The new safes were provided with unique and futuristic access control technology that would prevent unauthorised access and misuse by duplication of traditional key. A smart camera embedded in its body would monitor and record everything that would happen in front of it, Mr. Byramjee explained. Its interiors were illuminated with LED lamps to facilitate easy accessibility to even small valuables inside.

The company was targeting a turnover of Rs.500 crore this year against Rs.400 crore last year, Mr. Byramjee noted.
