Geojit BNP Paribas net profit rises

Geojit BNP Paribas Financial Services has reported 60 per cent rise in consolidated revenues to Rs. 80.95 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, 2009 from Rs. 50.61 crore in the year-ago period while the net profit shot up to Rs. 13.06 crore from Rs. 5.22 crore.

For the six months ended September 30, 2009, consolidated income of the company rose by 61 per cent to Rs. 157.63 crore from Rs. 97.96 crore.

The net profit more than doubled to Rs. 26.31 crore from Rs. 12.33 crore.

Elaborating on the results Managing Director Mr. C. J. George said, “Favourable market conditions and renewed investor confidence has contributed to the significant growth in our revenues. We have added 68,000 clients over the past twelve months

As a part of our strategic branch expansion, we have opened new branches in North India, Gujarat, West Bengal and Orissa to reach out to local investors.”
