Force Motors to expand product portfolio

Automobile manufacturer Force Motors Limited plans to expand its product portfolio by launching a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) and also introduce variants of sport utility vehicle ‘Force One’.

These would be the major components of the Rs.1,000-crore investment that the company proposed to make over the next two-to-three years, said Naresh Kumar Rattan, Chief Operating Officer (Tractor Business) and President (Corp. Sales and Marketing). He was speaking after the launch of ‘Traveller 26’, described by the company as the world’s largest monocoque panel van.

Daimler AG

The company has a licence agreement with Daimler AG for the MPV. While announcing the licence agreement, Force Motors had said that the “comprehensive supply of product technology would facilitate the entry of the segment of passenger and goods vehicle, which is adjacent to the present product line of the ‘Traveller’ light commercial vehicle.

Additional line

For MPV, the company would be setting up an additional line at its plant in Pithampur,Madhya Pradesh. It plans to bring in at least two variants of Force One. ‘Traveller 26’, he said, was also made under licence from Daimler AG. It comes with features that improve durability, stability, fuel efficiency and safety.

The vehicle would be suitable for various user segments, including corporates, fleet owners, and schools. The ex-showroom price of Traveller 26 in Tamil Nadu is Rs.11,07,673.
