Facebook India to monetise user base

Facebook India, with 65 million active users a month, is keen to monetise its user base and build better services, said Ms. Kirthiga Reddy, Director, Online Operations, Facebook India, here on Thursday.

The leading social networking site which crossed one billion user-mark recently world-wide considers India to be a huge market.

Ms. Kirthiga said that the online campaigns by brands were figuring in conversations among the Facebook users on products, brands and services. “The online campaigns on Facebook, word of mouth promotion by users in their conversations is yielding in business growth for products, services,” she said.

With 4,000 employees globally, Facebook announced the opening of its new office here.
