Epson, a leader in digital imaging, has announced the launch of integrated ink tank system printers in India.

Launching these products here, S. M .Ramprasad, Deputy General Manager, Consumer Product Group, Epson India, said the products were specially created for India and a few key Southeast Asian countries. Launched in two variants, Epson L100 inkjet printer and L200 inkjet all-in-one, these printers would help users increase productivity and save on printing costs.

Mr. Ramprasad said these products were ideally meant for home and small office home office (SOHO) segments and the cost for printing in A4 size paper would work out to only 10 paise per black page and 20 paise per colour page.

The price of L 100 printer is fixed at Rs. 8,999 and that of L 200 at Rs. 10,999.

High resolution

The printers come with a starting set of one 70 ml black ink bottle that can print 4,000 black pages and three 70 ml colour ink bottles that can print 6,500 colour pages.

The Epson Micro Piezo print head fitted in these printers would enable maximum print resolution and the adoption of variable size droplet technology would allow the print head to eject ink droplets in three sizes.

These capabilities would ensure the greatest detail and extremely smooth gradations in photographs, Mr. Ramprasad said.

Epson India had reported a turnover of Rs. 503 crore in 2010-11 and it was expected to achieve a 25 per cent growth in the current year, he said. The company was commanding a market share of 58 per cent in POS (point of sale) printers, 60 per cent in dot matrix printers (DMP) and 22 per cent in the overall printer market, Mr. Ramprasad said.

Led by the Japan-based Seiko Epson Corporation, the Epson group comprises nearly 75,000 employees in 100 companies around the world.

Headquartered in Bangalore, Epson India was incorporated in 2000. The company's range of products includes dot-matrix inkjet, laser and point of sale printers, scanners and LCD projectors.
