Emami launches oil brand in Tamil Nadu

Emami group, which made a foray into the food and beverage business early this year with the launch of edible oil brand ‘Healthy and Tasty', plans to achieve a total business of Rs. 300 crore in the first year, according to Aditya V. Agarwal, Director.

Mr. Agarwal was here on Thursday in connection with the launch of Healthy and Tasty in Tamil Nadu. The brand comes from Emami Biotech, part of Emami group.

Addressing presspersons, he said Tamil Nadu was the fourth State (where the products will be available from August 20) and within 3-4 months, the product would be introduced in Maharashtra. Earlier, it was introduced in West Bengal, Karnataka and Orissa. By April-May next year, Healthy and Tasty would be available across the country, he said.

Manish Goenka, Director, said the product was being produced at the company's Haldia unit. The present capacity of 1,200 tonnes a day would be doubled with an investment of Rs. 100 crore. The company was also planning to set up two refineries, one each in Krishnapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and another in the west with a total investment of Rs. 500 crore.
