Adding more excitement to the superbike segment, iconic Italian brand Ducati on Friday introduced its Monster model — M795 — priced at Rs.6.99 lakh. Developed specially for Asia, this is urban entry-level Ducati bike.
Stating that the new bike affirmed their focus towards the Asian markets, Ducati CEO (Asia Pacific) Mirko Bordiga said: “Monster has been the Ducati model sold in the highest numbers all over the world…it is an icon and represents an important part of Ducati's history.
“The new Monster 795 has been thought and developed specifically for the Asian markets and for the growing group of Ducati bikes in this area.”
According to Ducati India CEO Ashish Chordia, “This bike has been eagerly awaited in India…we have priced it attractively to make it easier for Ducati lovers to own their favourite brand.
“This is an important model for our market and we expect it to contribute to our sales significantly. ”
Asked about growing competition in the superbike segment, particularly from Harley-Davidson and new entrant Triumph, Mr. Chordia said India was a fast growing market that offered space for everyone. He said the new model would help them increase their sales ‘significantly'. Ducati offers 13 other models in India including Hypermotard and Super Bike.
