Cisco on Thursday introduced 61 new products in all categories of its collaboration portfolio, for customer related and inter-office communications. While retaining security, these products make optimum use of online social communities like Facebook for business information, the networking company claimed.

Company Vice President (Marketing) Kara Wilson told reporters here that “using the power of social interactive communities in a business environment is a planned strategy. India has the third largest Facebook users in the world. From the communications angle, we found 55 per cent of effective messages are visual.”

By enabling business executives always having to work from an office environment or only through meetings in other cities, the Cisco products could further cut down the cost of travel while facilitating communications through its new products, she said.

Explaining the capabilities of some of its new products, Minhal Zia, National Sales Manager, India and SAARC said, “The Cisco Enterprise Collaboration Platform is an enterprise social software portal that features a corporate directory with social network capabilities.”
