Carnation Auto, which provides multi-brand auto solutions network, on Monday announced its tie-up with DC Design, headed by car designer Dilip Chhabria, to launch complete customisation solutions and semi-customisation kits. Both will provide customised options for various car brands.
These solutions, which will be available through Carnation’s stores across the country, will answer the need for distinct identity, space, privacy, comfort, entertainment and utility. For instance, customisation of Toyota Innova will cost Rs. 4.95 lakh, while kits for Maruti Suzuki are priced between Rs. 45,000 and Rs.60,000, for Honda City between Rs. 60,000 and Rs.75,000 and Tata Nano between Rs.70,000 and Rs. 80,000.
Addressing a press conference here, Carnation Auto Chairman and Managing Director Jagdish Khattar said: “Our endeavour is to create ‘experience destinations’ for our customers. A nationwide world-class car care backup network and warranty will provide customers the assurance that their beautifully customised cars are in good hands when they need to be serviced.” According to Mr. Chhabria: “Our aim is to make the customisation business a mass market one. In the West, between two and five per cent of the total component business is from customisation and there is a similar potential in India. Our customisation kits would be made available through all the Carnation stores.” Carnation Auto has now 11 outlets across the country and plans to increase the number to 30 by end of 2009. Mr. Chhabria said options were unlimited as far as customisation of any car was concerned.
“In the interiors of his car, a customer can have plush leather seats that can recline to 150 degrees, a privacy partition, LCD TV with satellite TV connection, sound system with DVD player, beverages chiller and fold-out tables. Similarly, exteriors can be reworked with accentuated bumpers and air ducts, easy-access platforms and aircraft styled roof module,” he added.
