Bajaj Auto sales up 14 pc in July

The country’s second-largest two-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto on Tuesday reported a 14 per cent jump in total sales in July, 2011, to 3,63,712 units.

The company sold 3,18,415 units in the corresponding month last year, Bajaj Auto Ltd (BAL) said in a statement. Motorcycle sales stood at 3,18,095 units during the month, as against 2,79,781 in July last year, translating into a 14 per cent increase.

The company said commercial vehicle sales amounted to 45,617 units last month, as against 38,634 units in the same period last year, up 18 per cent, it said. Exports grew by 35 per cent during July this year to 1,43,996 units from 1,06,794 units in the same month last year, it said.
