Ashok Leyland launches Dost

Ashok Leyland Ltd launched its Dost, a Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV), at its authorised dealer showroom Aruna Motors at Nidamanuru near here Monday. Addressing a press conference, Ashok Leyland Executive Director (LCV) Nitin Seth said that Dost marks the first vehicle to be launched from joint venture between Ashok Leyland and Nissan Motor Company.

The Dost is initially being launched in four states- Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka. The company has plans to augment its dealership network to 60, including five Andhra—two in Hyderabad, one each in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Nellore—by 2012, he said.

Referring to Dost features, he said it has a payload capacity of 1,250 kg, AC cabin, power steering, better pick up, improved fuel efficiency. The vehicle was available at competitively price of Rs. 3.82 lakh to Rs. 4.42 lakh (ex-showroom-Vijayawada), he added.
