Driven by its small commercial vehicle ‘Dost’, Ashok Leyland has reported a 28 per cent rise in its total sales of commercial vehicles at 10,244 units in June against 8,009 units in the same month year-ago. Excluding the sales of ‘Dost’, total sales declined by 6 per cent during the month under reference at 7,519 vehicles against 8,009 vehicles. During April-June, total sales rose by 43 per cent to 27,585 units from 19,277 units in the year-ago period with ‘Dost’ accounting for 7,248 units.
Dost is manufactured in association with Nissan Motor Company of Japan at the company’s facility in Tamil Nadu.
