Ashok Leyland has bagged a $6.5 million order from the Bangladesh Road Transportation Corporation (BRTC) for supplying 88 air-conditioned buses.

This comes less than two weeks after an order for 50 vestibule buses was received from BRTC.

Indian line of credit

The Hinduja flagship firm said the order had been bagged under the Indian line of credit (LoC) scheme offered for the improvement of urban transportation in Bangladesh. “This order represents our commitment to partner BRTC in taking urban transportation in Bangladesh to a new level,” the release quoted Vinod K. Dasari, Managing Director, Ashok Leyland, as saying.
