With a big rise in frequency and sophistication of cyber threats it has become necessary to ensure continued protection of sensitive corporate and customer data and to create more awareness among employees of IT firms against cyber attacks. Unisys Corporation, a worldwide information technology company, has been offering security solutions that help secure customer's operations — people, places, assets and data — to create more reliability and less risk.

In an interaction with this correspondent, Patricia Titus, Vice-President and Global Information Security Officer of Unisys Corporation, said it was necessary to provide education and training to ensure adequate protection to enterprise assets of organisations.

Ms. Patricia said Unisys was working closely with its employees, business units, customers, associates and partners to enhance and embed security into the delivery of services.

She said the incidence of phishing (a form of fraud in which a message sender attempts to trick the recipient into divulging important personal information) was on the rise. She expected that enterprises would invest more in alternative paths such as automatic re-routing of communications from VOIP (voice-over Internet protocol) to cellular or satellite for critical communications in the event of Internet outage.

Ms. Patricia said one of Unisys products namely Unisys Stealth Solution would protect data both at rest and in motion.

It would provide secure sharing, agility from simplified administration and configuration, savings from consolidation, and cryptographic data dispersion for a new paradigm of storage resilience and integrity.

The Unisys Stealth Solution for network (data in motion) is a patent-pending transformational way to protect network data. Unisys is also present in verticals namely data centre transformation and outsourcing solutions, end user outsourcing and support services and application modernisation and outsourcing services.

With 23,000 employees, Unisys is present in more than 100 locations and serves commercial organisations and government agencies throughout the world.

The company operates from state-of-the-art facilities in Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad with a headcount of 4,200 including contractors.
