Bharti Airtel is all set to rollout broadband wireless access (BWA) services based on 4G technology here on Tuesday.
The Union Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal is scheduled to arrive here to launch the services.
With this launch, Bharti Airtel would become the first to launch these high-speed services. According to Airtel sources, this would entail speed of 100 megabits per second when a subscriber is on the move and a far higher speed when he is at a fixed location.
The company had won the auctions for three other circles but Kolkata's ‘preparedness', had made this launch possible, a company official said. It had selected ZTE Corporation of China, a listed global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, to plan, design, supply and deploy its 4G network in Kolkata.

It's good to hear that we will have a adequate wireless speed either on mobility or on fixed.Thanks to Airtel but can you please share the technology which has been used for BWA,like is it going to be rolled out on WiMAX or LTE ?
