Tracking Jaitley’s Budget promises

Here, we take stock of the different proposals made by Mr. Jaitley and check the status of its implementation.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, in his >2015 Budget speech , said the event was a significant opportunity to indicate the direction and the pace of India’s economic policy. He proposed plans to change the way the Union Government spends its money, new schemes that focused on women and senior citizens, news law for dealing with black money stashed abroad, the passage of the Constitutional Amendment Bill for the introduction of GST, among others. However, many of them have not come to fruition. Here, we take stock of the different proposals made by Mr. Jaitley and check the status of its implementation.
