Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Saturday sat down in between his budget speech in the Lok Sabha and then continued reading out the text.

Mr. Jaitley had last year taken an unprecedented break during his budget speech due to back pain and had continued reading it after a brief adjournment of the house.

The 62-year-old politician is known to suffer from recurring backaches.

Speaker Sumitra Mahajan asked Mr. Jaitley in between his speech if he needed to sit. Mr. Jaitley said he will sit down when needed and conveyed his gratitude to her.

He sat down about half an hour after beginning his speech.
