April 30, 2012 09:54 pm | Updated 09:54 pm IST - MUMBAI:

Letshego Holdings Ltd. (LHL), a consumer lending company based in Botswana, Africa, has selected Tata Consultancy Services' (TCS) BaNCS suite as the core banking system for its venture into retail banking in Africa, a TCS statement said.

LHL aims to transform itself from a pan-African financier into a retail banking firm by expanding its financial services footprint. TCS' solution will process loans and deposits across seven countries in Africa, including Botswana, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Namibia and Mozambique. Its multi-entity, multi-lingual and multi-currency solution will integrate all operational processes in the bank in real-time and manage increased transaction volumes while its flexible configuration features will cater to the needs of a multi-country deployment, the statement said.
