BITS Pilani ties up with UpGrad for IT upskilling

BITS Pilani has tied up with UpGrad, an online education company, to offer an online educational programme in big data engineering. The programme will train students in areas such as batch processing, real-time data processing, and big data analytics. “Online as a platform has the potential to provide transformative learning,” according to Ronnie Screwvala, a co-founder at UpGrad.Prof. Gurunarayanan, Dean – Work Integrated Learning Programmes, BITS Pilani said,“The prospect of combining our subject matter expertise with UpGrad’s ability to deliver quality online learning experience to a large number of students is very exciting” The 11-month long online program requires only 8-10 hours weekly commitment and will be introduced in November 2017, UpGrad said.
