Birla Corporation has maintained its dividend at Rs.6 per share despite posting a lower profit for 2011-12. The turnover for the year was Rs.2,596.82 crore against Rs.2,436.81 crore in the previous year. The profit for the period stood at Rs.239.4 crore against Rs.320.2 crore.
Commenting on the results, Harsh V. Lodha, Chairman, said that the profit was impacted substantially because of the disruption of operations at the Chanderia unit of the company, one of its main clinker producing facilities.
