The Delhi High Court order has come as huge relief for Nokia Employees’ Union.

M. Saravana Kumar, President of the union, said: “We were hoping for a favourable verdict, and we are happy about the order now.’’ It was big sigh of relief for the 6,500-odd employees, Mr. Kumar said.

He urged the Nokia management to initiate steps to fulfil the terms set by the Court, and make sure that the plant was transferred to Microsoft in accordance with the global agreement inked by the two companies. Mr. Kumar said the executive council of the union would take stock of the situation in the wake of the court order.
