Real estate developer Akshaya Pvt Ltd, formerly Akshaya Homes, has done the ‘rebranding exercise' of the company by spending around Rs.10 crore. The earlier logo and name Akshaya Homes indicated that the company concentrated only on residential projects and by rebranding the logo and name, the company planned to enter other sectors such as commercial, retail, healthcare and schools. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, T. Chitty Babu, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said last year the turnover of the company touched Rs.200 crore and this year it expected to reach Rs.350 crore. It was aiming to reach Rs.1,000 crore by 2015.

Mr. Babu said the company's future projects would be based on green building concepts and added that Crisil would rate their projects regularly. Every six months Crisil would monitor the operations of Akshaya and the rating would depend on their performance.

Akash Deep Jyoti, Head, Corporate and Infrastructure Ratings, said today many developers were asking for rating of their buildings and the awareness among the end-consumers were also increasing.

Mr. Babu said at present the company was having projects across Tamil Nadu. In the next three years it would expand into Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala.
