Zoozoos set for a comeback to the living room

April 14, 2014 09:58 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 07:24 pm IST - CHENNAI:

Those poofy, loveable white creatures called Zoozoos are all set to come back to the small screen , with Vodafone planning on reviving the advertising campaign for a fifth edition.

According to a press note, the icon will come back for its fifth edition for the latest IPL season and will be contextualised around well-known TV shows. The first advertisement will centre around a popular dance competition show while the other will take cue from a well-known quiz competition show.

“The Zoozoos are a big part of India’s cultural conscience. [But].. also had to overcome the challenge of keeping the Zoozoos fresh in execution. [Therefore]… we decided to contextualize the Zoozoo stories around popular TV shows to talk about the products,” said the company note.

When Vodafone first introduced the Zoozoos, it took a major leap by breaking away from the runaway success of Hutch’s ‘Pug campaign’, which featured a dog that followed its owner around.

The decision to break way from the Pug advertisements was one of Vodafone’s first conspicuous changes after buying Hutch’s operations in a $11 billion deal.
