Volkswagen launches new Vento

As part of plans to launch five products in India in next two years in a bid to increase sales, German carmaker Volkswagen on Tuesday launched new version of its mid-sized sedan Vento priced Rs.7.85 lakh onwards.

“India is an important market for Volkswagen. In the next 24 months we plan to launch five products,” Volkswagen Passenger Cars Director Michael Mayer said at a press conference, adding that the company plans to enter new car segments as well.

Besides launching a sub-4 meter compact sedan next year, the company plans to bring in the iconic Beetle. Volkswagen will launch 8th generation of its sedan Passat and Tiguan. Vento will come in both petrol and diesel variants and is priced between Rs.7.85 lakh and Rs.11.87 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
