Volkswagen India on Wednesday reported 22 per cent increase in sales in March at 4,577 units.

The company had sold 3,741 units in March 2014.

The Volkswagen Polo made a significant contribution to the increase in sales in March 2015, Volkswagen India said in a statement.

Successful launches of the new Jetta and limited edition Vento Magnific were also major contributors to the increase in sales, it added.

“The increase in sales underlines the fact that car buyers in India are increasingly appreciative of the key attributes of our cars, which are best-in-class safety, build quality and driving dynamics, which makes our cars very involving to drive,” Volkswagen Group Sales India, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars Michael Mayer said.
