V-Guard to expand its kitchen appliances range

: Kochi-based V-Guard Industries Ltd, a consumer electrical and electronics major, will expand its kitchen appliances range by rolling out gas stoves, said its Director and Chief Operating Officer, V. Ramachandran.

Talking to The Hindu , Mr. Ramachandran said: “We are all set to compete with Butterfly and Prestige in the gas stove category. The stoves will be in three formats — two, three and four burners. They will be launched on a pilot basis in the next three months starting from Kerala.”

In line with the company policy, gas stoves will also be manufactured by a third party. V-Guard kitchen appliances range comprises induction cook tops and mixer grinders. It is the market leader in Kerala for induction cook tops and occupies third position in Tamil Nadu. It also sells it products in Karnataka.

The mixer grinders were introduced recently in Kerala and plans are to enter Tamil Nadu and Karnataka in the coming season by expanding the range. During the current fiscal, the company expects induction cook tops and mixer grinders to garner revenue of Rs.60 crore to Rs.70 crore.

Water heater

On Wednesday, Mr. Ramachandran said the company rolled out Verano, India’s first ever ‘Internet of Things’ enabled premium water heater. It comes in 25 litres and 15 litres priced at Rs.17,500 and Rs.16,000 respectively.

The Verano water heater can be controlled by a smartphone. and also with an infrared remote.

All that the user has to do is to download the app and have WiFi facility.
